Universal Studios Japan reveals concept art for Nintendo Land
Nintendo has been on quite a roll recently. First it was the reveal of the new Nintendo Switch, then we saw the first live gameplay of the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild game on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and finally it was the announcement that Nintendo theme parks will be hitting both Universal Studios Orlando and Japan. Now, Universal Japan have released some more news regarding the Nintendo park.
The Universal park addition will be called Super Nintendo World, and will be mostly centered around brand icon, Mario. From the looks of the first concept art released with the announcement, it feels like it jumped straight out of Mario game. The release also states that alongside the iconic plumber, guests will see other popular characters from the Nintendo brand. There’s no word as of yet if the Orlando version will be the same, but my guess is that it will. Especially since that’s how it was with the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in the Orlando and California parks.
So far, it looks like they’re planning to have everything up and running by the 2020 Olympics, which coincidentally are being held in Tokyo. I can’t wait to hear what other additions they plan on throwing into Nintendo Land, but I am sort of bummed out that it won’t be added to the California park. I guess I can always hope right?
