Lindsey Stirling takes on Hans Zimmer’s The Dark Knight Rises theme

Hans Zimmer has composed the score for many popular films including The Dark Knight trilogy, The Lion King, Inception, The Last Samurai and many more. The composer is working on a new album, “The Classics,” featuring hot musicians today as they re-imagine his notable movie scores. It will be released on January 13th, but you can listen to one of the songs earlier below with violinist Lindsey Stirling’s take on The Dark Knight Rises’ “Main Theme.” The popular YouTube musician has done many renditions of video game and movie music.

“I have always loved Hans Zimmer’s work,” Stirling said in a statement to Billboard. “There have been several times I’ve been writing a song and I’ve thought, ‘What would Hans do?’ He has a gift for making things sound magical.”

Other remade tracks include films like Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Kion King and Inception from artists like 2CELLOS, Leona Lewis and The Piano Guys.
