Spoilers ahead if you didn’t watch episode 7 of Westworld.

The last episode of HBO’s Westworld was the talk of the town. The series shocked millions of viewers with the reveal that Bernard Lowe is actually a host. Dun, dun, dun….. This makes a lot of sense since Anthony Hopkins’ Ford seems to know everything. With hosts everywhere likely feeding him information, it’s likely that he knows about the “blood sacrifice” conversation between Theresa Cullen and Charlotte Hale, with Hector in the background likely spying for Ford.

In the end, Ford made Bernard kill his former lover, Theresa, to prevent her from getting in his way.

Bernard has become a sympathetic character, and it looks like even though Ford has control over him, he is going to resist somehow, according to the official synopsis below.

Today HBO has released new photos and the synopsis for Westworld episode 8, “Trace Decay,” featuring Maeve, Ford, Teddy, Man in Black, Dolores, William and more. The photos below look like they could have been in a previous episode, so fans won’t be able to get clues from them. However, the synopsis does give some hints.

Synopsis: Bernard (Jeffrey Wright) struggles with a mandate; Maeve (Thandie Newton) looks to change her script; Teddy (James Marsden) is jarred by dark memories.

The episode is written by Charles Yu & Lisa Joy and directed by Stephen Williams.

There are some fun fan theories popping up; for example, Bernard Lowe is an anagram for Arnold Weber. However, the show never really mentions Arnold’s last name.

Episode 8, “Trace Decay,” airs Sunday, November 20th, at 9pm PT/ET on HBO.
