If you live in Los Angeles county and near EA in Playa Vista, CA, you might have notice picket signs. Video game voice actor’s union, SAG-AFTRA, has officially gone on strike. This is after 19 months of unsuccessful negotiation talks to get better working conditions and residual payments depending on game sales and performance. The union has declined the 9% wage increase and compensation up to $950 based on sessions on the video game title. Upcoming releases will not be affected for the holiday season, but expect possible delays for future games if terms are not met. The companies voice actors will be striking against:

  • Activision Publishing, Inc.
  • Blindlight, LLC
  • Corps of Discovery Films
  • Disney Character Voices, Inc.
  • Electronic Arts Productions, Inc.
  • Formosa Interactive, LLC
  • Insomniac Games, Inc.
  • Interactive Associates, Inc.
  • Take 2 Interactive Software
  • VoiceWorks Productions, Inc.
  • WB Games, Inc.

EA in Playa Vista, CA, is expected to have more SAG-AFTRA members picketing at 10:30 a.m. PT, Monday, October 24th.
