Arrow’s Manu Bennett responds to Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke
Deathstroke is to be the main villain in the upcoming solo Batman film with Ben Affleck. Not only is he an addition to the film, but he’s now part of the ever-growing DC Extended Universe. Who will be playing this deadly mercenary? Joe Manganiello. Yes, the same one that was in Magic Mike. Now, Manganiello isn’t the first actor to bring this character to life, as Manu Bennett has been portraying Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke through seasons 1-3 of Arrow.
Ok if Joe is playing Deathstroke I'm gonna Magic Mike 🙂 https://t.co/cqs3Mv3RoZ

Of course when news broke of the casting, fans took to social media to express their true feelings (like they always do) of approval, disapproval and everything in between. A GIF of Bennett seductively dancing was tweeted to Spartacus costar Liam McIntyre not too long after. Bennett happened to notice it and replied himself stating jokingly, “Ok if Joe is playing Deathstroke I’m gonna Magic Mike :).” Clearly, he’s fine with Manganiello taking the reigns on the big screen.
Although since that tweet, many fans have been submitting photos of a shirtless Bennett in a sort of pseudo-campaign for him to join Magic Mike. I really enjoyed Bennett as Deathstroke, although I think they could have done so much more with him. As for Manganiello, I think he’d be a good fit; he was pretty good in Sabatoge. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see until more footage is released.
