Sacramento Wizard World Paperclip Challenge

Earlier this summer Wizard World came to Sacramento. (You can read the entire review right here.) While there is already an insane amount of things to do and see at a Wizard World event, the team over at Videogame BANG! wanted to try new game based off of a trend that was happening on Craigslist awhile back.

A few years ago, there were some amazing stories of people who would start bartering on Craigslist. Kids would start off with a paper clip and continue trading up little by little, until they would eventually trade for something amazing like a car. We took that idea and decided to bring it to comic con. We partnered with Rich Alvarez from the Stupid Mario Bros. and  pitted him 1v1 against Sir Aaron Carter from the Videogame BANG!

The two men started with identical red paperclips and were given an hour in a half to wheel and deal their way to the coolest item possible. The rules were simple… you can only trade for things that are tangible, you cannot use money or exchange currency, and all trades are final. Check out the video, let us know what you think, and try it at your next local convention!
