PS4 ‘Neo’ exists, but won’t be shown at E3

A rumor surfaced a couple of months ago about a “higher-end” PS4 that would support 4K gaming and feature enhanced versions of games. Now it has been confirmed that such a system is in development by Sony.

President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Andrew House, spoke with the Financial Times about the console saying that it has been in development for a while now and that it would cost more than the current $350 model. He also stated that it’s “intended to sit alongside and complement the standard PS4. We will be selling both [versions] through the life cycle.”

It may come as a disappointment, however, to find out that the PlayStation “Neo” will not be revealed at E3 this week. House’s reason for this is as follows: “We want to ensure we have a full range of the best experiences on the new system that we can showcase in their entirety.”

Chances are we will hear more about this upgraded console later on in the year at a convention like Gamescom or even in a standalone announcement by Sony.

l love to play games and write stuff about them. I can't play something and not tell anyone how I feel about it. Call it a sickness, because it is.
