Clementine is back in a new season of Telltale’s The Walking Dead!

Just in case you missed it during the barrage of news that came out today, Telltale Games released the first teaser trailer for The Walking Dead: Season 3. According to the trailer, the highly awarded series will return this fall, likely coinciding with the return of the hit AMC series. In the short teaser, fans get a quick glimpse at series protagonist and everyone’s favorite adopted daughter, Clementine.

Clem appears to be much older than she was when we last left her. She is still sporting her famous blue hat, but she appears to be missing a finger. Hidden Blade? We are also given a quick glimpse of a new character in the series, Javier. Not much is known about this new character, but it is said that he and Clem have very similar goals and share a common enemy.

Judging from the trailer, it appears that Season 3 will use the new Telltale engine I keep hearing so much about. The style of the game still looks very familiar, but the overall details is far better than what gamers saw in the Michonne series.

Walking Dead head honcho Robert Kirkman revealed earlier this year that there are big plans in store for Season 3.

“Season 3 of the Telltale series is really exciting to me, just because the way that the timeline works, Season 3 will actually be getting pretty close to where we are in the comics concurrently. There’s a lot of really cool, really exciting things coming that I don’t think people will expect. We’ll be checking in on Clementine again, so we’ll be seeing her, we’ll be seeing where she was at and what’s going on with her, which is going to be great, but also I think similar to the Michonne series, that there will probably be some more comic book elements that will be worked in, and in some interesting ways. I don’t want to reveal too much, but it will definitely kind of go hand in hand with the comics a little bit more than Season 2 did.”

Looks like fans can expect another crossover between the comics and the video game. Who or what will appear in Season 3 remains to be seen. Stay tune for more of our coverage from E3 2016.
