CD Projekt Red is excited about Cyberpunk 2077’s different setting

CD Projekt Red will be releasing the last expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt at the end of this month with “Blood and Wine,” and fans are wondering whether there will be any other plans for the series. We won’t know anytime soon since the developer is going to be busy with the sci-fi RPG, Cyberpunk 2077.

With a different setting, the team is definitely excited and Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, a game director at CD Projekt Red, has shared his excitement with the Examiner.

“For me it’s super hard because I’ve been in the company since the first game. In a way, we’ve matured together. But, there’s always the flip side: people, me too, are eager to express their ideas in a different setting. And we’ll do exactly that in Cyberpunk 2077,” Tomaszkiewicz said.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was considered Game of the Year for many outlets in 2015, so the team has some big shoes to fill for its next game. Even though we’re not sure if the studio will continue with The Witcher series in the future, Tomaszkiewicz did say that “Blood and Wine,” the second and last Witcher 3 expansion, will be the last one for Geralt.

“The only thing I can say is that Blood and Wine is Geralt’s final adventure,” Tomaszkiewicz said.

The Witcher 3’s “Blood and Wine” will be coming out on May 31st for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
