So there was this video game and body project that occurred in 2013 during the Vector: Game+Art Convergence in Toronto, Canada. The Itagaki Interface featured Daniele Hopkins and Kyle Duffield using their bodies as a human controller. The PlayStation controllers were mapped onto their chests as attendees get to play a game of Dead or Alive on the PlayStation console.

The project featured both Hopkins and Duffield standing in front of a big screen with Dead or Alive in the background. It’s a metaphor of real-world bodies being used to control exaggerated versions of the human body in a fighting game.

The challenge is to play a game while using a controller mapped on a person’s body while also highlighting how bodies are represented in video games.
