Hollywood engaged in bidding war for live-action Pokemon movie rights


If there’s anything Hollywood loves to do, it’s snapping up movie rights and sitting on them for years. The Hollywood Reporter reports that a multitude of Hollywood studios is fighting over the rights to produce a live-action Pokemon movie. The number of players includes Legendary, Warner Bros, and Sony among others.

While it’s reported that Legendary has the upper hand in the negotiations, there are causes for concern considering Legendary’s Chinese parent company and the historical tension between China and Japan.
