Another person has been cast in the sequel to Kingsman, Kinsman: The Golden Circle, and it is none other than the infamous Channing Tatum, who announced it through his Twitter account. Having been a surprising hit, Kingsman: Secret Service ended up taking in a massive worldwide gross of over 400 million dollars which gave it the greenlight for a sequel.

Tatum’s role is not known yet but is expected to play the American counterpart of the Kingsman, the Statesman.

Taron Egerton, who starred as Eggsy, was at Sundance and gave a quick glimpse on what we can expect in the upcoming sequel:

“With Kingsman, we’re shooting in the summer at present. There’s a script, it’s brilliant. Obviously there’s only so much I can say but what I can say is that we shot [the first] one all in the U.K., that won’t be the case with the next one. It’s a far more international story, we’re going to some incredible places, and we have a villain to rival Samuel L. Jackson—this new one is so brilliantly written I wish I could play it. It’s amazing.”

With original director Matthew Vaughn said to be coming back, Tatum will be joining returning stars Taron Egerton and Mark Strong, alongside Halle Berry, Julianne Moore, and Pedro Pascal.

You can see Kingsman: The Golden Circle in theaters on June 16, 2017
