Our new dream job: Cosplay handler

What an amazing day and age we are living in. As the cosplay and convention scenes grow, so does room for growth of occupational opportunities. Much like the rock stars of the ’70s and ’80s, cosplayers like Yaya Han, Jessica Nigri, and Ivy Doomkitty are full-fledged celebrities when they walk the showroom floor of a con. Just how rock bands needed roadies, it’s about time cosplayers get ‘cosplay handlers’. Tasks of a cosplay handler range from keeping the talent hydrated, supporting them emotionally, warding off perverts, and preventing wardrobe malfunctions.

In this video, the best cosplay handler in the biz, Roo Man, takes you through a day in the life of a cosplay handler. Look out for some special appearances in the video from LeeAnna Vamp and the aforementioned Ivy DoomKitty. While it takes years of experience to operate on the level of Roo Man, this growing occupation is sure to be on the rise.
