As we draw closer to the film release of the highly-anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the buzz for DC has never been higher (a little electrical joke out there). Only being a week away from today, we received some huge casting news for the future installments in the DC Universe!

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Amber Heard has confirmed that she will be in the aforementioned film as Queen of Atlantis, Mera. Confirmed yesterday, Heard will make her first appearance in 2017’s The Justice League Part One before appearing in 2018 standalone Aquaman film, opposite Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa.

For those that aren’t too familiar with her, Mera made her first appearance in Aquaman #11 back in 1963. Mera was queen over the Dimension Aqua, until a criminal named Leron, bent on starting a revolution, overthrew her rule, forcing her to seek out the help of Aquaman. Teamed up, they were able to defeat Leron, and, after abdicating the throne of Xebel to Queen V’lana, Mera decides to marry the Marine Marvel.

One thing that Heard was vocal about was her costume. “It’s interesting. It’s like, half suit of armor, half scales,” Heard revealed. “It’s strange… We’re in the process of building it now, so it’s coming along.”

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder is set to helm the two-part Justice League films, while Furious 7’s James Wan will be directing the Aquaman standalone feature.

Directed by Zack Snyder and starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Mamoa, J.K. Simmons, Amber Heard, Ezra Miller, and Ray Fisher, Justice League: Part 1 is currently scheduled to be released on November 17, 2017 .
