Jessica Jones scores second season on Netflix

You can let out a sigh of relief, fellow Jessica Jones fans; the show has been renewed for a second 13-episode season on Netflix.

The news should not come as a major surprise, since its dark tone, mature handling of difficult themes, and relation to the Marvel universe made Marvel’s Jessica Jones a hit on the streaming service last year. However, Netflix took a little bit longer to announce a second season than they had with 2015’s Marvel’s Daredevil, which had some fans concerned we would only see Krysten Ritter again in Luke Cage and Defenders crossovers.

Thankfully, those concerns were unfounded and a second season is expected in either late 2016 or early 2017.

Impatient fans can expect to see Ritter and Mike Colter reprising their roles as Jessica Jones and Luke Cage in Marvel’s Luke Cage later this year. Season two of Marvel’s Daredevil will be available worldwide March 18, 2016.
