‘Gladiator’ actress Connie Nielsen cast as Wonder Woman’s mother

All hail the queen. Connie Nielsen, known for playing Lucilla in Gladiator has joined the cast of Warner Bros.’ Wonder Woman. The Danish actress will be playing Hippolyta, the queen of the Amazons and mother of Princess Diana of Themyscira/Wonder Woman.

She’ll join a prolific cast that already includes Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Chris Pine (Steve Trevor), Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, and Ewen Bremmer.
