Assassin’s Creed movie has wrapped filming

The Assassin’s Creed movie starring Michael Fassbender is coming to theaters this year. Azaïzia Aymar, Assassin’s Creed head of content, released a photo announcing that the last shot of principal photography was today.

Synopsis: “Callum Lynch (Fassbender) discovers he is a descendant of the secret Assassins society through unlocked genetic memories that allow him to relive the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th century Spain. After gaining incredible knowledge and skills he’s poised to take on the oppressive Knights Templar in the present day.”

The film also stars Marion Cotillard (The Dark Knight Rises), Jeremy Irons (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Brendan Gleeson (Edge of Tomorrow) and Michael K. Williams (12 Years a Slave). Justin Kurrzel is directing and has worked with Fassbender and Cotillard before in Macbeth.

Assassin’s Creed hits theaters on December 21, 2016.
