The Rock will appear at Wrestlemania 32
Despite early reports this year, Dwayne Johnson has confirmed on his official Instagram account that he will be attending this year’s Wrestlemania 32 in Dallas, Texas. Originally, there were reports that WWE had plans for a match between The Rock and Triple H at this year’s event. The Rock and Hunter have a sordid history in wrestling, dating back to their feud over the Intercontinental Championship, which then continued on into World Heavyweight Championship during the height of the Attitude Era. WWE wants this year’s Wrestlemania in Dallas to be a sellout show, and one last final showdown between this two titan would definitely marquee match.
There were reports that came out a few months ago saying that the plans were off for the match between Rock and Hunter due to insurance firm concerns for The Rock, stating his performance at the event could be a liability. With The Rock now being a huge movie star and now having a successful HBO series (Ballers) that is currently filming season two, it may not be in his best interest to step in the ring again after his last match that left him seriously injured.
After his match with John Cena at Wrestlemania 29, The Rock was hospitalized with a hernia, torn abductor and torn abdominal muscle. Since then, The Rock has appeared in the previous Wrestlemania’s, but not in a full match. As of this point, there is no word if The Rock will step into the ring while Wrestlemania arrives in Dallas, Texas.
