Three Pokémon classics coming to Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console

Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue, and Pokémon Yellow are all coming to the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console in all their original Gameboy glory on February 27, 2016. Both Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue were released in 1998 and started the Pokémon craze of catching em’ all. A year later Pokémon Yellow was released. With exclusive Pokémon in each version, you would have to trade with someone who has the version you don’t.

While you will be able to enjoy all three Pokémon games complete with monochromatic pixel art and 4-bit background music, you won’t have to hunt down a Gameboy link cable, since these versions will let you trade and battle using Nintendo 3DS system’s wireless capabilities.

No price has been announced for either of the games, but it’s nice knowing I don’t have to hunt down the original carts to play this game all over again and worry about my batteries running out. I do have one question though, how will I get my surfing Pikachu in Pokémon Yellow?
