Rumor: Hayden Christensen to return to the Star Wars universe in Episode VIII?

Ever since Star Wars: Rogue One was announced, rumors have been circulating about Darth Vader making an appearance in the film. It makes sense considering that the film takes place between the events of Episode III and IV.

There hasn’t been confirmation about Vader appearing in the film, but Making Star Wars is reporting that “a fully operation Darth Vader chest piece along with the helmet made it to the creature shop for the next film.” They continue, “the lights on the chest piece work and everything. Here’s where I get hesitant about it: There were not several of them, just one seen by a source and mentioned by another. I believe that part of the info is correct that a suit made it to the props area. Does that mean it is in the film? Not entirely.”

Here’s where things go from no-brainer to just plain ridiculous. Making Star Wars is also reporting that Haydon’t Act Again Hayden Christensen could be making an appearance in Star Wars: Episode VIII. “A team in the U.K. are soon heading to the U.S. to begin training Hayden Christensen for a Star Wars: Episode VIII appearance of some sort.”

It’s hard to believe that with all the anti-prequel marketing that’s been going on for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, that they would bring in Christensen to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. It would make more sense for the Christensen to reprise his role in Star Wars: Rogue One.

What do you think?
