Wrestler Xavier Woods channels Rufio at WWE’s Night of Champions

Xavier Wood Rufio

During tonight’s WWE pay-per-view, superstar Xavier Woods had everyone on social media talking about his very interesting hairdo at Night of Champions. When he came out to the ring with the rest of his New Day brethren, Woods was sport a Trihawk with red streaks much like Dante Basco’s character from Steven Spielberg’s Hook. The New Day hype man is no stranger to pop culture and all things nerdy. He even hosts his own gaming Youtube channel called Up Up Down Down, where he plays video games with many of the current stars in the WWE.

During the match, New Day faced off against the legendary tag team of The Dudley Boyz for the Tag-Team Titles. Although Xavier Woods was outside the ring, he still plays a key role. While at ringside, he would shout his own rendition of the “Rufi-o” chant from the film. There was even a point during the match that the crowd began to chant Rufio. Equip with his trombone, Woods played a few hits from Rocky’s Eye of the Tiger and at one point in the match he even played “Victory Fanfare” from Final Fantasy VII.

Given Woods background and the fact that he also cosplayed as Jem and the Holograms this year at Dragon Con, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him do more of this at future events. You can check out the aftermath of the match in the video below.
