Check out Chloe Bennet’s Quake outfit for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. third season

Chloe Bennet plays Quake in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC. If you’re not caught up yet, she was a hacker named Skye, and it was later revealed that she’s an Inhuman named Daisy Johnson, aka Quake. With the new season of Agents coming up, she will be getting a proper uniform, as revealed via LA Times.

The uniform very much reminds me of the X-Men uniforms from the first two X-Men movies and a more conservative Black Widow uniform from Avengers. She’ll be sporting special gauntlets made by S.H.I.E.L.D. that will allow her to control her super powers. To pay homage to the comic book, she has a Quake symbol on her gauntlets and back.

“It was really, really fun to put it on,” Chloe said about the outfit. “With the inner geek in me — and growing up with six brothers — I was never really interested in being the princess. I was more into being someone who kicked … and was a superhero. So, that was a dream come true,” said Bennet. “It was cool to be a part of the process in helping to design the outfit.”

Bennet talked about what’s practical and what’s impractical about the outfit.

“It’s only something that Daisy would have and is specific to her earthquake powers,” says Bennet. … “It’s a practical part of [the costume], cause when you put this on in real life, it’s not that practical! I always wondered why superheroes wear such tight outfits, cause they’re really tight and really limiting. It works onscreen, though.”

Costume designer Ann Foley talked about how the outfits shift from the past season to the new season.

“I think you’re definitely going to see a change in their costumes in Season 3. At the end of season one with the fall of SHIELD, you see a shift in the costumes — we went a little darker. Then by the time we pick up with the team in Season 2, everyone had definitely grown up and you saw a shift in the way that they were dressing. Everyone just had to grow up. With the events at the end of Season 2 now, you’re going to see another shift, and the costumes will reflect a shift for everybody.”

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 3 premieres on Tuesday, September 29th on ABC.
