Marvel Creative Committee is gone after news of Marvel Studios reporting to Disney

It was recently revealed that Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige would be reporting to Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn and not to Marvel Entertainment CEO Isaac Perlmutter. Now according to BirthMoviesDeath, the Marvel Creative Committee is no more.

The committee was comprised of members like President of Marvel Entertainment Alan Fine, comic book writer Brian Michael Bendis, Marvel Comics publisher Dan Buckley and Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada. They were there to watch over the Marvel Studios films and to add notes and share thoughts on the films from script to the big screen.

This may sound like bad news, since Marvel films have been adored by many, but deep down the committee was a pain in the ass for the production crew, according to the source. The group focused “on details of nit-picky science that ignored the general tone of the script itself” and lead to director Edgar Write leaving the Ant-Man film. The members of the committee were also in charge of other high-profile projects, and this lead to the process being sluggish.

Let’s see if we can tell the difference in future Marvel films, possibly the majority of Phase 3 films.

Since Marvel TV still has to report to Perlmutter, it may have a committee of its own.
