Is Guillermo del Toro done with video games?

The video game industry has been tough for Guillermo del Toro. During the time of THQ, he was working on a horror video game project, but the company went bankrupt. He then was supposed to collaborate with Hideo Kojima on the upcoming Silent Hills game, but Konami decided to cancel the project. Last month there was an interview with him during San Diego Comic-Con (via ShackNews) where he said that he doesn’t want to be a part of video games anymore, since he’s afraid he might ruin the company he’s working with.

“I have proven to be the albatross of video games, I joined THQ, and THQ goes broke. I join Kojima, and Kojima leaves Konami. I have decided, in order not to destroy anyone else’s life, I have decided I will never again get involved in video games. Otherwise, I’ll join someone and his house will explode, or something.”

There is good news. Del Toro has said that he is working with Kojima on another project that’s not Silent Hills after the SDCC interview.
