Does the return of General Ross to the MCU mean we’ll get Red Hulk?
Captain America: Civil War is going to be one of the biggest comic book movies to be released next year. They’ve already got an insane amount of star power on their cast, and one of them will be William Hurt. If you don’t remember William Hurt, let me refresh your memory because he played General “Thunderbolt” Ross in The Incredible Hulk (2008). It was reported a few days ago that Mr. William Hurt will be donning his military ribbons again and will be in the middle of the superhero civil war.
William Hurt did state something interesting when it was announced, because according to some latest interviews, he had much to say about playing General Ross again:
“I loved playing Ross the first time because I was able to try and create an ego as big as the monster he was chasing. And one that was as warped too”
“This is a much newer Ross. A much different Ross. And I liked that a lot. I haven’t had a lot of time to understand it, but I’m doing the best I can. And they haven’t fired me yet”.
“It’s very very different from [The Incredible Hulk], and the style is completely modernized […] So, I’m not playing the graphic novel version of Thaddius Ross. I’m playing… a better suit.”
A better suit? Well, that’s some interesting information because in the comic books General Ross becomes the Red Hulk. Here’s some Red Hulk knowledge for you: Red Hulk is as powerful as the green Savage Hulk that we’re all familiar with, however instead of getting stronger the angrier he gets, Red Hulk releases more radiation and he gets as hot as a nuclear core. Also, Red Hulk isn’t an alter-ego like Bruce Banner’s Hulk. Ross still attains his cunning military mind, but now complemented with near unlimited power.
If Red Hulk is what William Hurt is speaking about, then does that mean we’ll be getting more of Hulk’s friends and enemies in the near future? I wouldn’t be surprised if the Leader showed up or if Abomination came back again. Speaking of which, where the hell has he been? Since S.H.I.E.L.D. fell, where the hell have they been keeping him? Or better yet, where have they been testing on him? In addition to these questions is this last one: since Bruce Banner left on his own after Avengers: Age of Ultron, does this mean that Red Hulk will fill in for Hulk’s shoes? Hopefully, they answer a majority of these questions during Ross’ return next year, because it’s going to get insane when heroes start fighting heroes.

Even Red Hulk is giving the Avengers orders. Not someone you take on lightly.
