Ubisoft confirms Red Dead Redemption 2?

Red Dead Redemption 3

Ubisoft just sent out a survey to gamers asking them what they think of the Assassin’s Creed franchise and their new game, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. Included in the survey, Ubisoft asked which highly anticipated games fans wre planning on purchasing. Among the names were a lot of already confirmed titles like Fallout 4, Batman: Arkham Knight, Star Wars: Battlefront and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Also included in the list is the long anticipated sequel to Rockstar San Diego’s Red Dead Redemption.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has long been rumored to be in production, but Rockstar Games has never once confirmed its existence. Two months back an anonymous user on reddit, claiming to be a former member of the development team that had been fired, said that the game was in development, and the new title was “Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West.” The leak suggested that the new game is actually a prequel and will include some few familiar faces in the game’s story like John Marston and Bonny McFarlane. Much like GTA V, Red Dead 2 would feature three main characters.

Irish reportedly came from Ireland and moved to the Americas at the age of fifteen. Seth on the other hand is from Kansas City. He is said to be a bank teller who heard that there is some kind of treasure. He then decides to use his life savings to bring his family to Tumbleweed, Texas.

The third character is completely customizable. Players will be able to choose the character’s name, clothes and race.

red dead redemption and SkyrimIt is also worth noting that Skyrim 2 also appears on the list. This is the first I believe that anyone has heard of a possible direct sequel to Elder Scrolls V. This could mean that Ubisoft does have to intimate knowledge of these games’ existence or is just randomly throwing out names, but if that was the case why would they do that with only two out of the 20 names listed?

You can check out the survey yourself here. Maybe we can expect to hear some announcements on the two titles in a few days at E3. Stay tuned.
