Don’t expect a Flash/Arrow crossover with Supergirl… yet

Arguably one of the most anticipated new shows set to air this Fall is Supergirl on CBS. With DC basically killing it when it comes to their TV universe with Arrow and The Flash, many superhero fans are excited to see how Kara Zor-El stacks up to Barry Allen and Oliver Queen. Fans shouldn’t get too excited about seeing these characters team up anytime soon, though, since show producer Greg Berlanti says it’s just not a possibility right now.

The main cause behind this lack of possibility is that Supergirl is on CBS, while The Flash and Arrow are both on CW. Berlanti told Variety, “The network has said publicly at this point they’re going to keep her to themselves.” He says that he would love to see a crossover with Supergirl and when asked if there is a chance of this happening in the future he says “I think in success, all things are possible. But there’s a lot that would have to happen before everybody might say yes to that.”

This blockade of a crossover comes at a bit of a surprise since Bertlanti is the producer of The Flash and Arrow as well as Supergirl. Add to that the fact that CBS is a part owner of The CW and one has a hard time seeing where the problem is. Hopefully this will make some difference in the future and we can see one awesome team up down the road.
