Max Landis’ new action movie, American Ultra, gets posters

The first posters of the upcoming American Ultra may not give the best representation of what the film is about, but it shows you the kind of people the main characters are, reminiscent of James Franco and Seth Rogen’s Pineapple Express but with a spy twist. Back in 2012, Max Landis’ Chronicle surprised many people, in a positive way, and his newest film American Ultra seems to have the ability to do the same.

From the director of Project X and the writer of Chronicle, American Ultra has an all-star cast featuring Jesse Eisenberg (Now You See Me, Zombieland, The Social Network), Kristen Stewart (Twilight), Connie Britton (TV’s Nashville and Friday Night Lights), John Leguizamo (Chef, Spawn, Romeo + Juliette), and Topher Grace (That 70’s Show, Spiderman 3, Predators).

American Ultra follows Mike Howell, played by Jesse Eisenberg), an unmotivated stoner, and his girlfriend played by Kristen Stewart, who are on the run from the CIA after Mike learns that he’s a highly trained sleeper agent. After the CIA dispatches a team of assassins to take him out, Mike’s dormant skills become ‘activated’ and he lets fly a kick-ass torrent of lethal fight moves he didn’t know he was capable of.
