Sony, Marvel, and Fox finally agree to team up for Marvel’s Phase 4

AF 8Disclaimer: This was an April Fool’s article.

Two days ago after a private gala event held at Rockefeller Center in New York, Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige, Fox Film Entertainment’s Jim Gainopulos, and Sony Picture’s Amy Pascal were seen together in deep conversation, and what looked to be a very “lighthearted” atmosphere between the three top executives. We do know that Sony had recently teamed up with Marvel to finally bring Spider-Man into the the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and we all witnessed how that news flooded the Internet. However, we’d like everyone to take a seat, because these three studios have finally come to an agreement to at last merge the Marvel Universe back into one giant piece!

We were able to catch Jim Gainopulos at Newport for a private interview the following day, and what he said should clear all this up:

“You know, I’ve been in this business for as long as I can remember, and nothing like this has ever happened. If you had spoken to me 5 years ago, I’d have probably told you to take a long walk off a short pier! (chuckles) But yeah, it made sense. Surprisingly, it all started with a phone call from Amy. She pointed out to me that in the long run this would make everyone more successful. We’re doing the best we can with our X-Men franchise, but it was time to raise the bar. Becoming one collaborative group was the only answer for us as filmmakers, and for appeasing the fans of Marvel.”

This news is the atomic bomb that we all have been waiting for. The Marvel Universe is finally back together with all of its favorite cast of characters on screen! We’ve all been clamoring on our own blogs, comments, and posts on what would happen if the X-Men were to tangle with the Avengers, and it looks like it’s finally going to happen. Over a phone interview this morning, Kevin Feige expressed his excitement on what he’s got planned. We asked him what is going on, and to fill all of our Marvel fans out there on the news.

“Guys, my phone has literally been ringing constantly since I woke up. Shame on the person who broke this news before we could announce it. Come on, you guys know how much we love doing the large announcements! (laughs) I’m totally kidding. I mean, it was bound to get out sooner or later, right? All I can say is thanks to Amy Pascal for opening everyone’s eyes and having us all sit down to finally discuss the bigger picture.”

[So what exactly is the bigger picture, Mr. Feige?]

“Let’s just say…that’s a ‘SECRET.’ I’m doing air quotes, but you can’t see me. Just stay tuned for Phase 4 announcements soon.

We’re all in serious shock here. This is what we’ve all been waiting for since the release of the first Iron Man film. If Mr. Feige’s hinting at Phase 4 being a “secret,” does that mean it’s the Secret Invasion? Or perhaps it could be Secret Wars? Fox Studios and Sony Pictures do have their own cinematic universes, and the only way their characters could interact with Marvel Studios’ characters would be through a universal clash. So again, this means that there’s only one answer left for Phase 4. Secret Wars.
