Marvel’s Joe Quesada says a successful Spider-Man film is getting Peter Parker right

amazing spider-man 2 - 01

Many fans and critics loved Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man films (except for Spider-Man 3), but it seems like Andrew Garfield was a favorite for playing the wall crawler. It wasn’t really a surprise to hear that Marvel and Sony wanted to look for a new and younger actor for its upcoming collaboration. This lead some to wondering whether we’ll be getting Peter Parker or somebody else.

Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada was asked on Tumblr over the weekend about what he thinks the studios should do for a successful Spider-Man film.

The trick to making any incarnation of Spider-Man great, whether comics, animation or film is Peter Parker. Get Peter’s character right and the rest falls into place.

That’s nice to hear that he is suggesting that the studios should get Peter Parker’s character right.

Did you enjoy Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man/Peter Parker or Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man/Peter Parker? What do you think is the key thing to getting the character right?

Spider-Man is reported to appear in Captain America: Civil War on May 6, 2016, with the solo Spidey film coming out on July 28, 2017.
