Chronicle writer explains why ‘Wrestling Isn’t Wrestling’ in star-studded short
Screenwriter and filmmaker Max Landis has a pretty big year ahead of him. This year alone, Max has five films that he’s written coming out including American Ultra, Victor Frankenstein, Mr. Right and his directorial debut Me Him Her. With all these movies coming out, it’s surprising that he has enough time to do a short film on wrestling.
Landis has always publicly acknowledged his love of wrestling. Following his infamous short The Death and Return of Superman, Landis announced that his next short film would feature the life and career of WWE chief operating officer HHH.
The film would star Chloe Dykstra as The King of Kings and a large assortment of cameos from the likes of Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman from Mythbusters, Seth Green, Macaulay Culkin, Sam Witwer, Josh Peck, Haley Joel Osment, one-time WCW champ David Arquette, Max’s father John Landis and even Bill Goldberg.
The film is an in-depth look into the medium of professional wrestling and how it is much more than just a bunch of oiled-up buff guys in spandex rolling around in a ring. You can check out the video below.
