Robert Downey Jr delivers Iron Man prosthetic arm to kid in need

image-2-127048Cool and all around good guy Robert Downey Jr just made some kid’s day. A new video of the Avengers: Age of Ultron star has just appeared online and shows the actor delivering an Iron Man-like prosthetic arm to a 7-year-old boy.

Alex was born with a partially disabled right arm and is a big fan of super heroes. Thanks to Albert Manero of Limbitless Solutions and Microsoft OneNote Collective Project, they were able to give him the chance of a lifetime to meet Tony Stark, himself.

During his visit, Robert stayed completely in character and even delivered Alex’s new arm in a sleek Stark Industries container. Alex was given an Iron Man-styled prosthetic arm similar to the one Downey wears in the movie.

Limbitless Solutions is a growing engineering community devoted to changing lives through the innovation of new bionic arm designs and development of a worldwide network of makers and thinkers. We operate as volunteers under E-nable, an already global network of engineers and 3D print enthusiasts who share our enthusiasm for the 3D maker movement. Our mission is to create a world without limits, where everyone has access to the tools necessary to manufacture simple, affordable, and accessible solutions through open source design and 3D printing. We aim to lead by example, pushing the limits of ingenuity by synthesizing engineering principles with natural anatomy in our effort to replicate the human form in printed plastic.
