Danny Trejo has added another role to his resume this year. The man of a million movies has joined the El Rey Network’s From Dusk till Dawn, the series based on the movie of the same name. Originally Trejo played the role of Razor Charlie in the movie. A Rodriguez favorite, he has also been in Grindhouse which spawned the Machete films. Could we be seeing a Machete series on the El Rey Network soon?

For now we know that Trejo will not be reprising his role as Razor, but instead will be taking on a brand new character, The Regulator. The character is described as an agent of evil who has come here to perform an errand of deadly proportions. Little else is known. Also joining the cast is Briana Evigan (Step Up 2) as Sonja, a tattoo artist and American expatriate working for the Mexican Mercado forging documents.

Currently in production in Austin, Texas, and in its second season, Trejo’s role can almost guarantee a level up of gore.

Trejo joins returning cast members D.J. Cotrona, Jesse Garcia, Zane Holtz, Wilmer Valderama, and more.

You still have time to binge watch the first season of From Dusk till Dawn: The Series and it’s quite a ride.
