Marvel announced 6 villains joining Netflix’s Daredevil series
Marvel and Netflix have been doing a great job of keeping things under the lid with the Daredevil series. Now it has revealed six supporting actors who will be appearing in the series.
First we have Peter Shinkoda as Nobu. He’ll be playing a Japanese businessman with his own agenda. Fans may recognize him as Sektor from the Mortal Kombat Legacy web series. He can also be seen in Falling Skies and Hawaii 5-0.
Next we have Wai Ching Ho (Law and Order: Special Victims Unit) as Madame Gao. She’s a powerful trade runner.
Nikolai Nikolaeff (Sea Patrol, Power Rangers Jungle Fury) will be playing Vladimir, one-half of the Russian brothers looking to make a name for themselves in America.
Gideon Emery (Grimm, Teen Wolf, How to Train Your Dragon 2) will be playing Anatoly, the other half of the Russian brothers.
Rob Morgan (Person of Interest, Believe) will be playing Turk Barrett, a Hell’s Kitchen criminal who fights Daredevil thanks to stolen armor from other supervillains.
Last but not least, we have Matt Gerald (Avatar, Dexter) as Melvin Potter, aka Gladiator. (No, not the cosmic being from the Shi’ar empire.) He’s a known Daredevil rival who is an expert fighter.
“With an already tremendous cast, these six actors help to fully flesh out Matt Murdock’s world and give life to Hell’s Kitchen,” said Executive Producer/Marvel’s Head of Television Jeph Loeb. “We’ve been blessed to work with such amazing actors on this series to create a truly remarkable first season.”
“It’s an honor to be working with such a talented and diverse group of artists who vividly bring these characters to life,” said Executive Producer and Showrunner Steven S. DeKnight. “The challenge in bringing ‘villains’ to the screen is always in portraying them as three-dimensional characters. Our actors exceeded all expectations in this regard, crafting deeply flawed, wonderfully human antagonists.”
Marvel’s Daredevil premieres on Netflix April 10th with all 13 episodes.
