We may have found our Beast and Gaston in the live-action ‘Beauty and the Beast’ story

Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey, The Guest) and Luke Evans (Dracula Untold, The Hobbit) are in talks to play the Beast/Prince and Gaston, respectively.

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast will have their own live-action retelling of the story, starring Emma Watson as Belle. Bill Condon will be directing the film, with production beginning later this year. There is no film release date yet.

With the success of last year’s Maleficent, live-action remakes of classic Disney animations were inevitable. Cinderella, which opens next Friday, March 13, has already received positive reviews and is predicted to generate large numbers in the box office.

Beauty and the Beast tells the French fairy tale of Belle, whose father is taken prisoner by a monstrous animal in his castle. He allows her to taker her father’s place, hoping she may fall in love with him to break a curse that would allow him to become human again.

Both Stevens and Evans would be a perfect for their respective roles. Hopefully, it will be confirmed in their casting soon.

What do you think of their potential casting?
