Warner Brothers is already hard at work putting the pieces together for their DC Cinematic Universe. News has recently surfaced that the studio is already looking to grab 300: Rise of the Empire’s Noam Murro to direct Jason Mamoa in the standalone Aquaman movie. Warner was also rumored to be interested in MUD director Jeff Nichols. Murro name seems to be the front-runner now thanks to his success with the 300 sequel that was produced by Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder.

The film is rumored to come out in 2018, and it appears Aquaman is patiently waiting to snatch up Karl Urban after he wraps up Star Trek 3. Karl and WB already have a good working relationship, since Urban’s name was one of the few in the early running for Batman before Ben Affleck landed the role. Warner Brothers was also behind Urban’s failed Bad Robot series, Almost Human.
