‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ has found their Jean Grey, Storm, and Cyclops!

Director Bryan Singer has announced on Twitter the younger versions of Famke Janssen, Halle Berry, and James Marsden’s X-men characters for the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse. Congratulations to Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones), Alexandra Shipp (Drumline: A New Beat) and Tye Sheridan (Tree of Life) for their roles as Jean Grey, Storm, and Cyclops, respectively.

Turner and Shipp expressed their joy on their Twitter.

X-Men: Apocalypse will be set in the 1980s with the younger versions of Jean Grey, Storm, and Cyclops being first introduced to Professor X (James McAvoy). They will be joining Marvel newcomer Oscar Isaac, who was cast as the titular villain, Apocalypse.

They will be joining returning X-Men: First Class members McAvoy, Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), and Nicholas Hoult (Beast). Hugh Jackman has not yet been confirmed to return as Wolverine.

We last left the film X-Men: Days of Future Past end credit with the introduction of the four Horsemen and En Sabah Nur aka “The First One” aka Apocalypse. So, this film will focus on Apocalypse and his reign of terror, as well as Mystique’s relationships with Magneto, Professor X, and Beast. There are rumors that Channing Tatum may make an appearance as Gambit in the film, but nothing has been confirmed.

X-Men: Apocalypse begins shooting this spring and opens in theaters on May 27, 2016.
