Game Awards 2014: The Legend of Zelda Wii U

The 2014 Game Awards happened yesterday and both Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma were happy to bring some joy to every Nintendo fan with a world premiere.

This year they brought us the first real gameplay footage of the new Legend of Zelda for Wii U, and while the demo footage was short it was pretty damn sweet. We got to see more shots of the world, some items, a little horseback riding gameplay and even a small touch of combat. We also got to see the new way point system and just how big the map for Link’s next adventure will be — during the demo they hinted that the travel time between locations could take quite a while on foot.

We also got word that both Star Fox Wii U and Majora’s Mask 3DS will be out before the Zelda Wii U but all 3 are on track to launch in 2015.

Check out the video below for the world premiere below.

The Legend of Zelda Wii U will be released for the Wii U in 2015.

Legends tell of a princess captured and raised by Ninjas to be their future leader. Jada was trained from an early age to max the luck stat, always strike first and to never surrender.
