It was reported recently that actor Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) was attached to play the main villain, Apocalypse, in Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse. To confirm that story even more, MTV asked Isaac about the role.

Not only does Isaac confirm that he’s going to play Apocalypse, but he also talks about how he was a fan of the comics when he was young. He references X-Factor, which featured the first appearance of Apocalypse.

“The first comic I ever collected was X-Factor,” Isaac said, “…so I read that story, with Archangel and Apocalypse. I was also obsessed with the Book of Revelation a bit, I was a weird kid, so anything that referenced the second coming, or the rapture, or anything like that…So I was really into Apocalypse, so when I found out they were interested in me for it, I was really excited about it.”

As for the look of Apocalypse, Isaac said that the design hasn’t been talked about yet.

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016.
