Dwayne Johnson to star in Disney’s Moana

MOANA

Disney announced that its next Walt Disney Animation Studios movie after Big Hero 6 and Zootopia was going to be Moana. So far we know that Ron Celments and John Musker (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin) are attached to direct the film that’s coming out in 2016.

Now Dwayne Johnson has confirmed via Twitter that he’s going to be voicing the demigod Maui. We now also know that it’s going to be a musical, with Johnson implying that he’ll be singing in it.

Dwayne Johnson can also be seen in the upcoming Shazam movie as Black Adam on April 5, 2019.

In the ancient South Pacific world of Oceania, Moana, a born navigator, sets sail in search of a fabled island. During her incredible journey, she teams up with her hero, the legendary demi-god Maui, to traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous sea creatures, breathtaking underworlds and ancient folklore.
