Video game reviewer receives rape threats, tells on their moms

I think it’s fair to say that female gamers have been harassed more than male gamers. (Well, except for when you’re playing an online Call of Duty match and are dealing with trolls.) Australian video game reviewer Alanah Pearce has received rape threats from “young boys” via Twitter. Since it’s the Internet, these harassers usually tend to get away with their actions. Now Pearce has the best solution for people who think rape threats are okay…by telling on their moms.

Here’s the text version:

“Hi Anna, I don’t know you, but I was wondering if [blanked-out] is your son?”

“Yes he is. Why?”

“I have never met him before, but he sent me a concerning message to my public Facebook page today that I was wondering if you might be interested in discussing with him.” *screengrab*

“Omg, little sh*t. I’M SO SORRY. YES I WILL TALK TO HIM!” (Via)

It’s pretty simple, and is probably the best course of action. Pearce was able to find info on the moms of the “boys” by simply looking at their Facebook profile.
