Steam Greenlight is a great thing. It’s a system that gives independent video game developers a chance at having their game be released on Steam. With enough support from fans and the community, the game can be a part of the Steam library.

One game that looks promising is The Skies, a post-apocalyptic MMORPG with a non-linear storyline from Ukrainian studio EFORB. The game is said to be a mix of DayZ and Fallout 3. As for the RPG side of things, as you’ll be able to create your own role and your own reality.

The Steam Greenlight page can be found here.

Before the end of the year, an Alpha version will be released so that you can get a taste of things to come, with the Beta coming out in the 1st quarter of 2015.

The game’s plot is based on a post-apocalyptic story. According to the authors, in the next 100 years, the world faces a mix of disasters leading to destruction of the usual scheme of interaction between human beings and moral and ethical value system. People are starting to get out of their bunkers near 2150 and gradually repopulate the earth in search of the city, which still has some technologies. No zombies, no aliens — the real players and mutated creatures are much scarier than characters of mass culture.
