Oscar Isaac will play the titular villain in X-Men: Apocalypse

It’s going to be quite a good couple of years for Oscar Isaac, as the actor is going from a galaxy far, far away to tormenting the X-Men. Variety is reporting that Isaac has been cast as Apocalypse in Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse.

Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and James McAvoy are all returning for X-Men: Apocalypse which will be set in the 1980s. Singer is returning to direct the film with Simon Kinberg also returning to pen the script. “‘Apocalypse’ will have more of the mass destruction that ‘X-Men’ films, to date, have not relied upon,” Singer said. “There’s definitely now a character and a story that allow room for that kind of spectacle.”

X-Men: Apocalypse sets to destroy the ’80s on May 27, 2016.
