The Hobbit: ‘The Last Goodbye’ music video is out

The Hobbit

We know Billy Boyd, the actor who played Pippin in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, is singing the final theme song for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Now, here is the music video for the song. It features scenes from, not only The Hobbit trilogy, but also the Lord of the Rings trilogy.  This will be the final film for Peter Jackson’s 16 years bringing J.R.R. Tolkien’s books to life. What a sweet way to end the film than with cast member Boyd to play them out.

Boyd, Jackson and screenwriters Philippa Boyens and Fran Walsh worked together on the music and lyrics for the final song. Boyd told Entertainment Weekly, “This wasn’t just a song to end The Battle of the Five Armies. It was a song to say goodbye to Middle-Earth.”

Prepare the tissues!

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies releases on December 17. The film’s soundtrack will be released on December 9th.
