Justice League fanart pays homage to Jim Lee’s X-Men cover

It’s the age of superheroes, and the two huge titans that have been gracing our comic book shelves have always been Marvel and DC. Now I’m not going to get into the argument of who’s better since I do like both of them, but they do like to overlap each other from time to time. What I’m trying to get at today is this beautifully done panoramic illustration of the Justice League members taking on Darkseid. (Click on the image for higher resolution.)

Gorgeous isn’t it? However as awesome as this is, this art is basically paying homage to the original X-Men cover drawn by Jim Lee in the 1990s. Remember, I said the Justice League pic is paying “homage” and not “ripping off” – so let’s not start any wars about this, okay fanboys on both sides? Anyway, the original from Jim Lee looks like this:

The DC fan artwork is inspired by Jim Lee and Geoff Johns’ New 52 Justice League and is created by artist Jeremy Roberts. It’s really well illustrated and colored. Either way, Let’s just all enjoy the pic, yeah?
