Jamie Chung has done comic book movies like Big Hero 6 and Sin City: A Dame To Kill For. However, there is one comic book movie that she would like to be a part of.

Speaking to CBR, Chung reveals that she wants more than just playing an animated superhero. She wants to portray a live-action heroine and mentions wanting to play different X-Men characters like Jubilee, or Storm. The one character she really wanted to play was the X-Men telepath, Psylocke, aka Betsy Braddock. She’s a mutant with the power to wield a psychic blade who is also proficient in martial arts.

“‘X-Men’ was my favorite Marvel property. It was Wolverine and Cyclops. I’ve always wanted to play a Jubilee or a Storm or a Jean Grey, the Phoenix series was amazing, and I was so intrigued with Mystique. But ultimately I thought the coolest character was Psylocke. I really wanted to be Psylocke.”

Chung on there not being a definitive Psylocke.

No. Hopefully they’ll bring her into something. But I think the fans — I kind of put it out in the universe, and the fans, some are like, ‘Oh my God, that would be amazing.’ And the other fans are like, ‘No, that’s so wrong casting. She needs to be British. She needs to be this and that!’ And so I just put it out there for fun.

Psylocke did make a small appearance in X-Men: The Last Stand. Justice was not done to the character, since she didn’t get to show off her powers and also died quickly at the hands of Jean Grey. The less we talk about the movie the better.

Psylocke has a very complicated background. She is the sister of Captain Britain with telepathic powers. Her mind was later transferred into the body of Kwannon, a Japanese assassin.

Do you think Jamie Chung would be a good Psylocke?
