Rockstar re-releasing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for the Xbox 360

gta saYesterday, rumors began to spread that Rockstar Games may be re-releasing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas after a fan had found a list of hidden achievements for the blockbuster title on the Xbox 360. San Andreas was one of the few original Xbox games that was backwards compatible with early models of the 360. The game was eventually made available for digital download. Following the first initial report, many gamers reported that the game had gone missing from Xbox’s Marketplace.

Today, Rockstar has finally announced that it is re-releasing the game for the Xbox 360. The re-release is part of the ten year anniversary of the San Andreas’ release. According to Rockstar, the original download will no longer be available. On October 26th, the game will be released. The graphics will see a slight improvement, now sporting 720p resolution. There is said to be 11 new added secret achievements, but for the most part the game is still the same.

actual_1413906120 Rockstar is also rolling out some new maps and items for their GTA Online mod on Grand Theft Auto V. Fans will now be able to fight it out just like the fabled Ballers and Grove Street gangs once did right in front of CJ’s mama’s house. BMX bikes as well as vehicle suspension mods are now available.

Being a big fan of the title, I’m kind disappointed the game isn’t getting the full “re-mastered” treatment. San Andreas is still one of my top favorite games and with the Full HD mods fans have been making it is easy to see that there is still a lot of love for the game.
