When the news first broke that Marvel would be coming to television, it’s safe to say everyone who loved the films got a bit excited. But then Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. started up and it was a bit…underwhelming. And week by week the show just seemed to lose ground and viewers, which is bad news for a television show. But then something happened — the tie in with Captain America: The Winter Soldier changed the game for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The organization was no more, and the show was able to take that paranoia from Winter Soldier and incorporate it into the show seamlessly. Building off of the momentum of season one, season two has been superb with some new characters, some interesting twists, but the same enemy.

Opening up the panel, Head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb greeted the New York Comic Con Main Stage and got the crowd pumped up to see if what he had heard is true: New York is better and louder than San Diego. Loeb went on to acknowledge a good amount of people involved with the success of Marvel and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. including Alan Fine, Joe Quesada, Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon, Maurissa Tancharoen, and Jeff Bell.

Loeb then went on to talk about season one of S.H.I.E.L.D. saying, “One of the things I hoped you learned about season one is…anyone can be HYDRA.” At this moment, Loeb opens up his jacket to reveal he’s wearing a HYDRA shirt. Storming out from the side of the stage is Agent Coulson himself! Clark Gregg walks up to Loeb and confronts him about his shirt as the crowd began to chant “Coulson! Coulson!”

Within a few moments, Loeb introduces the newest episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Without giving away too much in the way of spoilers, ‘Face My Enemy’ is easily the best Agents of SHIELD episode of season two and definitely has some of the best action sequences. Both Gregg and Ming-Na Wen were fantastic and really showed a side of their characters that we haven’t quite seen in the show.

Once the episode was finished airing, the panel was close to coming to an end. But Gregg was just begging for one last thing from Loeb…one last thing and he would forgive Loeb for being HYDRA. Gregg wanted Loeb to show the audience of New York Comic Con the first clip from Marvel’s newest show, Agent Carter. And so, for Clark Gregg’s forgiveness, Loeb gave the fans of New York one last surprise. Here’s a brief description of the first ever clip from Agent Carter.

Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper) and Edwin Jarvis (James D’Arcy) arrive to a harbor at night. Stark boards a speedboat, giving Peggy the task of tracking down a deadly formula of his that might fall into the wrong hands. This formula of his has the power to destroy a full city block. Before he leaves, Stark assigns Jarvis to assist Peggy with anything she may need. The clip ends with an impressive fight sequence between Peggy and an unknown man. As expected, Peggy gets the better of him and finishes the job by throwing him out of a window.

Make sure to tune in next Tuesday at 9:00 on ABC to catch Agents of SHIELD as it really is one of the better shows of the fall. As for Agent Carter, there’s still a few months to go but just keep an eye out on clips and teasers as they’ll probably be coming out shortly.
