Robert Downey Jr says no Iron Man 4

Robert Downey Jr. originally signed a contract to do three Iron Man films and one Avengers film. He fulfilled that and has received $50 million for The Avenger and Iron Man 3 each. He signed an extended contract for Avengers: Age of Ultron and Avengers 3, but what about an Iron Man 4 film?

Fans who have been following this news already may know a fourth film isn’t happening. In a recent interview with Variety during his promotion of The Judge, Downey drives the point home again that an Iron Man sequel with him in it won’t be happening.

“There isn’t one in the pipe. No, there’s no plan for a fourth Iron Man,” said Downey.

Pretty straightforward. Do you think Marvel should shower him with more money for Iron Man 4, or do you think Marvel is okay with continuing the Marvel Cinematic Universe without Tony Stark?

Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters on May 1, 2015.
