SDCC 2014: Stan Lee cancels San Diego Comic-Con appearance due to laryngitis

Stan Lee

Stan Lee, the co-creator of Spider-Man, X-Men and Avengers, was scheduled to appear at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday and Saturday to do signings. If you were looking forward to meeting the comic book legend over the weekend, I’ve got some bad news for you. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 92-year-old legend had to cancel his appearance because he was losing his voice.

“Unfortunately Stan Lee has lost his voice due to laryngitis and is unable to attend this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, and has regrettably had to cancel his appearances,” said his spokesperson confirming the news. “Stan is otherwise well and in good health, though he is disappointed to miss the event and wishes everyone a great time.”

Lee has been making many appearances, so those around the nation will still have a chance to meet him, like at San Antonio’s Alamo City Comic-Con in September and at Stan Lee’s Comikaze in Los Angeles in October.

Also, expect to see Stan Lee making a cameo appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy when it hits theaters August 1, 2014.
